This week on Alaska’s Fresh Catch, we’re saddling up for an Americana special, with new music from Sad Daddy, Margaret Glaspy, Ryan Bingham, and more. We’ll also debut a brand-new collaboration from three Alaska songwriters: Casey Smith, Chad Reynvaan, and Joshua LaBuda. And we’ll tip our hat to Alaska folk legend Hobo Jim, whose songs still feel stitched into the state’s backroads, barrooms, and boat harbors.

Our guest this week is Sitka singer-songwriter Zak Kirkpatrick. We’ll get to know the man behind the music, talk about the stories that shape his songs, and dive into his latest single, “Ghosts in Lynn Canal.”
